Frequently asked questions

Are these video and audio tools free?

Yes, completely free with no signup, no account, and no limits. All tools are open source and will stay free.

Do my media files get uploaded to a server?

No. Processing runs in your browser via FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your video and audio files never leave your device.

Why does it take a moment to start the first time?

The FFmpeg WebAssembly engine (~25 MB) downloads once on first use and is then cached by your browser. Subsequent visits and operations start immediately.

Is there a file size limit?

No enforced limit. Very large files (multi-GB) require enough RAM in your browser tab to hold the file during processing. For most use cases — trimming clips, compressing for social, extracting audio — files up to a few GB work fine on modern hardware.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on desktop. Safari requires version 16.4 or later for full WebAssembly threading support. Mobile browsers work for small files but are slower due to hardware constraints.
